Der Hausdoktor ("The house doctor") is a comedy in three acts by F.W. Ziegler (Friedrich Julius Wilhelm Ziegler, 1750-1827)[1].

First performed in 1798, The text published in Neueste deutsche Schaubühne by Bolling, Augsburg, 1804.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch from the original German by "S.C." and published in Amsterdam by L. van Hulst en zoon, 1817.

Performance history in South Africa

1827: Performed in Dutch by Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town on 10 November, with as afterpiece De Trouwring (Lembert).
