The Organisation of South African Artists (acronym: OOSAA) was a loose affiliation of artists and intellectuals initiated from within Aquarius, a university-based Marxist discussion group, itself within the fold of NUSAS.
In 1976 OOSAA initiated The Workshop, a series of artmaking activities and events during the course of 1976 in the space in Mowbray. This would subsequently become the origin of and venue for the Community Arts Project (CAP).
