n Man van Beginsels is the translation from French into Afrikaans of a play by French dramatist Eugène Marin Labiche [1] (5 May 1815 – 23 January 1888). The original title and the name of the translator are unknown. The characters are Anatol, Eugene, Yvonne, Jean and Amelie.
