Anna Russell (1911-2006). English–Canadian singer and comedian.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She did a run of her one-woman shows at the Wits University Great Hall in 1956. She returned again in March 1959 to tour the major centres and Rhodesia. She returned to South Africa in June of 1967 and shared Ronnie Quibell’s programme with the German pianist Horst Jankowski [1].
