Born Dirk Gysbert Richard in 1918.
He passed away in 1910. He was the editor of the Afrikaans newspaper Die Vaderland.

He wrote the plays Die Rooi Duiwel se As (19**), Die Laaste Skakel; Perske vir 'n Pond; Gebed in Clarendon; Die Taal van die Hart.
