Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as Komplimenten en Wind by an anonymous author and published in Amsteldam by J. Dóll, 1799.

Performance history in South Africa

1819: Was to have been performed in Cape Town by Men Doet Wat Men Kan on 18 September, using the Dutch version of Komplimenten en Wind, but was replaced by Montoni, of Het Kasteel van Udolpho (Duval/Bruggemans) due to the illness of one of the main actors.

1823: Performed in Cape Town by Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense, led by Charles Etienne Boniface, on 1 November, using the Dutch version of Komplimenten en Wind.
