Rohan Quince is a Shakespeare scholar and director.

Born and grew up in Johannesburg.

He went to the USA and obtained his M.A. Ph.D. in English from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, after which he became Associate Professor of English at Georgia Southern University.

He returned to South Africa in 1994, to teach at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg, South Africa, and became Head of English. By 2000 he was Director of Sagewood School in Midrand, South Africa.

Quince has published several articles on drama, particularly Shakespeare in performance. His books include his doctoral thesis which appeared as Shakespeare in South Africa. Stage Productions during the Apartheid Era (Peter Lang, 2000).

He has directed and performed in numerous Shakespeare productions.
