Biography
She was born on 1 September 1971 and raised in KwaMashu, Durban. She had her own pantsula group when she was 12. She is not only a respected, awardwinning dance maker and teacher. She is also part of Cape Town Opera's strategy to create opera for and about South Africa.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Sbonakaliso Ndaba choreographed a dance version of The Suit in 2002.
Works created include Gatherings (with John Linden and Amanda Fuchs) for the Jazzart Dance Theatre (2008).
She did the choreography the Mandela Trilogy, a musical tribute to the life and times of Nelson Mandela, which was performed at the Playhouse in Durban in July 2011, at the Montecasino Theatre in Johannesburg in Sptember 2011 and was set to tour internationally.
