Tom Weber (19**-) is an Afrikaans author, journalist and playwright.


Biography

He lived in Johannesburg and worked as a journalist for Die Transvaler.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He wrote a number of plays, including the Boer War drama Bitter Einde (performed 1955, 1956 and 1957), In liefde verlore (Performed 1956 by JAATS), Kryg en Konfyt, of Tant Truida van Pretoria (publsihed by Dalro) and the unpublished raio drama Julle het omgedraai.

He also did Afrikaans translations of Everyman (as Elkeman), Edward my seun (radio drama by Robert Morley en Noel Langley), Antigone (by Jean Anouilh, the Afrikaans piece being broadcast by the Afrikaans radio service).
