Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He was a member of W.A. Sewell's Garrick Club in Cape Town.
He wrote the play By Order of the Governor in 1947. Called "a romantic play of the Cape in 1798". Published in 1958
He adapted Treasure Island for the stage.
Author of a number of one-act plays in English, including Check-Mate, The Fourth Estate, The Judgement of Cornelis Pienaar, The Master Gamester, Playthings, Postage Stamps and Pro-Consul. All published in Seven One-Act Plays (Cape Town: Citadel Press, 1956).
He wrote the three-act play The King of Diamonds about Cecil John Rhodes and Barney Barnato, first presented at the Labia Theatre, Cape Town, 1953. published by Pioneer Press in Cape Town in the 1956. Apparently adapted as a musical and performed by NTO in 1961.
