The First Gentleman is a play by Norman Ginsbury.

The original text

The play was first staged in London in 1945, starring Robert Morley as the Prince Regent and Wendy Hiller as Princess Charlotte.

Translations and adaptations

A 1948 British historical drama film was based on the play, also released as Affairs of a Rogue.

Performance history in South Africa

Presented by the Repertory Theatre Society later known as the Cape Town Repertory Theatre Society , January 1952.
