Catharine and Petruchio is a 1756 adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew by David Garrick. Extremely popular during the 18th and 19th centuries, it is sometimes also written Catherine and Petruchio and Katharine and Petruchio in some versions. Sometimes cited as Katharina en Petruchio in Dutch newspapers in Cape Town.
