J.C. Gie (17**-18**) was a Cape Town amateur performer.
He was a leading member in Cape Town of the Dutch amateur theatre company Tot Nut en Vermaak, possibly the secretary of the society. In 1819 he became the secretary of the society Het Hollandsch Toneellievend Gezelschap (using the motto : Men Doet Wat Men Kan).
In this capacity he was involved in the construction and management of a private theatre and rehearsal space for Tot Nut en Vermaak (1817-1819), and responsible for selling off the contents of the space when the company folded in 1819.
