A Theme Park is really a focused or specialized form of amusement park, which has its activities and features focused on a specific theme, historic period, activity ands so on. Often closely aligned to or combined with a museum.

In many ways theme parks are also performative in nature, providing spaces in which (anthropological, technological, historical, futuristic, etc ) re-enactments, reconstructions, and related activities take place.
