A Day in the Death of Joe Egg is a 1967 play by the English playwright Peter Nichols, first staged at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland, before transferring to London's West End theatres in 1968. The play centers on a British couple who are struggling to save their marriage whilst trying to raise their only child, a small girl with cerebral palsy.

Directed by Roy Sargeant, presented by the Rhodes University Drama Department in 1973 with Henry Goodman, Lois Butlin, Mary Ashby, Tony Peake, Irene Peake and Beth Dickerson in the cast.

Roy Sargeant directed this play for The Company at the Market Theatre in May 1980. It starred Danny Keogh and Sandy Dacombe, Bess Finney, Tiffany Kelly as Joe, Lesley Nott.
