He has an MA and a D.Litt. from the University of Stellenbosch, where he is a senior lecturer in literature, drama and film studies in the Department of English.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Besides his teaching of South African drama and particularly film, his publications include articles on film and drama, and a biography of David Kramer (with Mathilda Slabbert, 2011)
