The original text
A play about "a small man with big dreams, a small brain and a head that's in danger of exploding." (National Arts Festival programme, 1997). Published in the collection Johnny Boskak is Feeling Funny and other plays in 2009. The play won the 1998 Vita Award as Best Script.

1997: First performed in South Africa by Greig Coetzee (as Milton Leonardo van der Spuy) at the National Arts Festival, directed by Garth Anderson. Also performed at the Lincoln Centre, New York.
