The original text

Based on the biography of Hugo Grotius the renowned Dutch jurist (also known as Huig de Groot, Hugo Grocio or Hugo de Groot), the play was performed in 1803(?) and published by Kummer in Leipzig: 1803 and Wallishausserin Augsburg: 1804.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as Hugo de Groot , and published by J. Doll in 1804.

Translated into French by Antoine Jean Dumaniant (pseud. for Antoine Jean Bourlin.) and Henri Joseph Thuring as Hugo Grotius, performed in Paris and published there by Barba in 1804.
