A German comedy in four acts by Heinrich Beck (1760-1803), first performed in Berlin 1798 and published as part of his complete works in 1802.
Performance history in South Africa
First performed in German in the African Theatre, Cape Town on 13 February 1802 by Het Hoogduitsche Gezelschap van het Liefhebbery Theater. (According to Bosman, 1928, p. 79, this was the first theatre production in Cape Town for which an advert has been found.)
