It made its debut on stage at the [[KKNK]], 1997. The play is set in the time directly after South Africa's first democratic election in 1994 and the story is told by the characters Martiens and Ragel who live on a farm in the Oudtshoorn area. Originally written as a radio play (Dear Miester Mandela), it won the BBC's radio drama competition for the Africa and Middle East section in 1995.
