Reginald Visagie from Alberton is a regular guy with a family, two cars and a swimming pool. But he dreams of his name in lights like the big stars in America. With the help of a bottle of hard tack he ends up on the stage in the annual talent competition in the school hall and he performs a series of sketches about everyday South African life - like the search for a toilet in Hillbrow.

REGINALD VISAGIE van Alberton is 'n gewone ou met 'n gesin, twee
 
motors en 'n swembad. Hy droom egter van sy naam in ligte soos die
 
groot sterre van Amerika.
 
Met die hulp van 'n bottel hardehout, begeef Reggie hom dus by
 
die jaarlikse talentwedstryd in die skoolsaal op die verhoog.
 
Hier hou hy sy lyf kaartmannetjie in 'n reeks sketse oor die
 
lewe in Suid-Afrika oor dinge so alledaags soos die soektog na 'n
 
toilet in Hillbrow. In die sketse word veral blankes se nostalgie en
 
hul vergeefse hunkering na die verlede uitgebeeld. Reggie wil net in
 
vrede agter sy veiligheidsheining leef en nie dít verloor waarvoor
