Performance history in South Africa
First produced in 1983 at the Libertas Theatre Club in Stellenbosch, in The Arena Theatre at the Nico Malan Theatre in Cape Town and in the Goodnow Hall in Wellington, directed by Johann van Heerden, with Dup du Plessis (MC), Jannie Hofmeyr (bass-baritone), Antoinette Pienaar (soprano), Carin Prins (alto), Belinda Richardson (alto) and André Schwartz (tenor). Musical direction by Anthony Costandius, with Bill Maliepaard (saxophone), Keith Coxen (drums), Hans Huyssen/Stefné Hough (double bass), Faan Malan (French horn), Edna Labuschagne (clarinet), Jannie Hofmeyr (flute) and Anthony Costandius (piano).
