("The Count of Waltron, or The Subordination") A Dutch translation of the German play Der Graf von Walltron, oder die Subordination (1777) by H. F. Möller (1748-1798). Translated in 1778 and published in Amsterdam by Wed. P.J. Entrop, 1778. First performed in Dutch in the Amsterdamse Schouwburg ("Amsterdam Civic Theatre") on 14 April 1789. Termed a "krygspel" ("military play”, with scenes of military action) by the Dutch translator.

Performance history in South Africa

1831: The Dutch text performed by Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town with De Dronkaard (Kotzebue).
