Biography
A lieutenant in the Madras Cavalry, possibly in Cape Town on leave from India. He spent the year, then left for England due to ill-health.

He and Captain Frazer, as senior members of the amateur company, apparently led the revival of theatre by the Officers of the Garrison, under the banner name "All the World's a Stage", in 1807.
Particularly noted by contemporaries as a comic actor, he acted as manager for the Officers of the Garrison for their first number of performances in the African Theatre in 1807.
