Der Burgermeister by Gert Hofmann, translated into Afrikaans by Bartho Smit: Die Burgemeester. Full length play. Cast: mixed. Published in Bartho Smit-Vertalings, 4 by HAUM-literary, 1984.
The Afrikaans translation was directed by Fred Engelen for PACT shortly before his death in 1967. In 1973 the play was presented by PACOFS under the direction of Pieter Fourie, starring Petru Wessels, Franz Marx and Carel Trichardt.
