Born in **, he studied Speech and Drama at the University of Cape Town and did post graduate Master classes with Peter Bridgemont at Chrysalis Theatre Acting School, London. His acting career began in 1984.
Was married to Camilla Waldman.

Singled out as the most promising new actor of 1987 for his role in Cock and Bull Story.
