A comédie-folie in two acts and in prose by Dorvigny (Louis-François Archambault, 1742-1812). original French Title, Le Désespoir de Jocrisse, First performed in Paris at the Théâtre Montansier, on 22 November 1791. Published Chez André in 1801.

Translated into Dutch as De Wanhoop van Jocrisse by Hendrik Ogelwight (Junior) in 1798 and published in Amsterdam by Pieter Johannes Uylenbroek.

Performed in Cape Town by Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense on 26 September 1815, following on De Wanhoop van Jocrisse (Patrat, translation by H. Kup).
