Design for the Theatre
A general term, theatre design may refer to two distinct activities:
a) the design of a theatrical space/building. The person responsible is thus a theatre architect (working with a range of engineers in many cases).
(b) the design of various elements for a particular production. This includes a range of creative activities including Set design, Costume design, Lighting Design, Sound Design.
Designer
Person who designs is a Designer, more often than not more spercifically designated as a "Costume designer", "Set designer", "Sound designer", "Lighting designer" etc.
