The Ball at the Castle by Joan Bright. A play about Lady Anne Barnard, it was a runner-up in the competition for original plays written for The Van Riebeeck Festival. Produced by NTO in 1952 as part of the Festival. Directed by Gwen ffrangçon-Davies, also in the role of Lady Barnard. Mathilde Hanekom returned to the stage in this play for the first time since her husband, Hendrik Hanekom passed away. (Helikon, 1(5), 1952).
