Johan is one of the most commonly found first names, and Fourie equally widespread as a surname in South Africa, thus there are a number of individuals involved in theatre named Johan Fourie.

He was contracted to visit 130 platteland towns with Die Laaste van die Takhare in the name of and in co-operation with CAPAB in 1966.
