(19*-) Actor in television, film and theatre. Born and raised in Paarl, Merlin studied Drama at the University of Stellenbosch. Stage plays he appeared in as a student include ''[[Matilda]]'', ''[[Charlie And The Chocolate Factory]]'', ''[[Robin Hood (The Musical)]] (by [[Keith Bain]], directed by [[Gaerin Hauptfleisch]], 1999)'', ''[[War Of The Worlds]]'' , ''[[Straties]]'' (by [[Braam van der Vyver]],  ([[KKNK]], 2004), ''[[The Contingency Plan]]'', ''[[Karnaval]]'' ([[The Playhouse]], Somerset West , directed by [[Molly Mohr]], 1999), ''[[Jan en die Playstation]]''. Then went on to make a name for himself in the theatre industry, appearing in  productions such as ''[[Vatmaar]]'' (directed by [[Janice Honeyman]]), ''[[Bungee Writing Finals]] (2002)'', ''[[Die Laaste Aand]]'', ''[[Scribble]]'' and many more. Television work includes bad guy Werner in ''7de Laan'', directed by Tim Green, ''Divers Down'', ''The Interrogation Room'' and ''Pasella''.  Film work includes roles in ''A Boy Called Twist'', ''The Silent Fall'',  ''Luck'' and ''More Than Just a Game''. Well known for his appearance in numerous prominent TV commercials. He has also performed with The Paarl Orchestra as a lead singer.
