Egoli, also found as EGoli or eGoli (in its Zulu original), is the name given to the South African city of Johannesburg, widely known as the "City of Gold".
The name has been used as the shorthand title for a number of stage, film and TV works, including:
Egoli: City of Gold (a play by Matsemela Manaka, 1979; also printed eGoli: City of Gold)
Egoli: Plek van Goud (Egoli: Place of Gold in English, originally an Afrikaans TV series, later multilingual, 1992.)
Egoli: the Movie (film, based on the TV series, 2010)
Egoli – The Musical ( A musical play by Bongani Titana, 2010)
