The Way We Heal is a play by Mongane Wally Serote.

The original text

The play is an extract from Serote's anthology document about African Spiritualism, which was presented to the African Diaspora Summit in 2012. The play tackles the issue of African spiritualism and the process of self-realisation.

Performances in South Africa

2013: Presented at the Windybrow Theatre.

2014: Presented at the Soweto Theatre, directed by Bogosi Kenny Bolokwe, starring Lennox Sibisi, Freedom Mswane, Matshidiso Mokoka, Mosoeu Ketlele and Thuli Nokia Semela. The play was subsequently presented at Mmabana Cultural Centre in Mahikeng before heading to Canada, Botswana, Mozambique and Lesotho. It was also presented in London and at the Brighton Arts Festival.
