Founded in 1968 under the leadership of Michal Grobbelaar with Alida van Deventer and Ann Bailes as the first fulltime manipulators.
The Johannesburg Civic Theatre provided children's entertainment inside the Theatre complex, at the yearly Rand Easter Show and at venues around the city, through the use of a specially outfitted city bus.
