Gerard Bester (19**-) Dancer, actor, choreographer, teacher.

Biography

He was born in Hillbrow at the Queen Victoria maternity home.

Training

Graduated from Wits, Studied in London at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance

Career

For 14 years he worked for the Outreach Foundation and for 12 of those years he was based at the Hillbrow Theatre. In Windybrow’s heyday in the early 1990s, Bester also taught at the Ishashalazi Drama School based at Windybrow.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
