Sophie Snyman was a Speech and Drama student at the University of Stellenbosch.

Biography

She studied at the University of Stellenbosch (1949-1951), one of her subjects being Speech and Drama.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While a third year student, she compiled very useful scrapbook of newspaper cuttings organised by theatre topics for her in Speech and Drama course. Dated 1951, it was found in the Stellenbosch Drama Department archives in 2022. Now held in the Performing Arts Research Collection (PARC) at the Africa Open Institute for Music, Research and Innovation, with offices at Pieter Okkers House, 7 Joubert Street, Stellenbosch, South Africa.
