Boy from Bethulie (sometimes billed as The Boy from Bethulie) by Patrick Mynhardt.

Original text

This one-man autobiographical piece was staged at the Intimate Theatre by a group called A Teater as their first production in 1983. Always performed by the author.

Performance history in South Africa

1983: Staged at the Baxter Theatre.

1984: Presented by Brian Charteris, with Patrick Mynhardt, on the National Arts Festival Fringe.

1990: Staged at the Warehouse in May.

1996: Staged in October at Die Teaterhuisie in Pretoria.

2004: Staged in June in the Liberty Life Theatre on the Square.

Mynhardt died in London in 2007, where he was performing in this show at the Jermyn Street Theatre in the West End.
