In 1997, a number of well established technical production services companies and individuals came together to form an association to serve the needs of both the live entertainment industry and its clients.  Basing itself on the PSA (Production Services Association) in the UK, the Technical Production Services Association ([[TPSA]]) was born.  Launched officially in February 1998, it is an association incorporated not for gain under section 21 of the Companies Act 61 of 1973.
