The University of Pretoria Drama Department (Afrikaans: Universiteit van Pretoria Drama Departement) is a tertiary level drama and theatre training facility.

History

Founded in 1965 by Professor Geoff Cronjé, it was originally named the Departement Dramatologie ("Department Dramatology"), later renamed the Universiteit van Pretoria Drama Departement.


At the begining of the 21st century all the arts Departments (including Drama) at the University were incorporated into a larger entity known as the School of the Arts: Drama[1] at the University of Pretoria.
