Dis Koud Hier ("It's Cold Here") is an Afrikaans play in five scenes by Braam van Wyk.

The original text
Set in an unnamed country, the tragic play is about a crippled son, Willi, who defends the memory of his brother, who had been executed as a traitor, by destroying the evidence and leading the family to believe he had died a hero. Then then two enemy deserters arrive asking for refuge.
The text was published by Tafelberg in 1971.
Translations and adaptations
In 1976 the text was adapted for television and broadcast on the SABC Afrikaans channel, on Monday 20 September 1976. Directed by Johan de Kock it featured George Ballot as "Willi", Babs Laker as "Bertha", Annelisa Weiland as "Retha", with Lieb Bester and Carel Trichardt as the two enemy soldiers.
Stage performance history in South Africa
1975: Presented in September by Libertas Teaterklub, Stellenbosch, directed by Maureen de Kock, with Esté Heydenrych, Space van Heerden, Johan Burger, Dorothea van Schalkwyk and Hans Hugo.
1975: Presented by PEAAT at the Savoy Theatre in Port Elizabeth
