Die Spoorwegpolisie ("the railway police") was a documentary series directed by Paul Eilers in 1984.
Broadcast history in South Africa
Die Spoorwegpolisie series was filmed in several locations across South Africa including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Saldanha Bay, and Durban and aired in 1984. The series depicts the duties of the national Railway Police Force, who were responsible for maintaining law and order in the national railways across the country. Among their many duties was ensuring the safety of citizens as well as intercepting any criminal activity taking place on the railways.
The head of the Railway Police Force at the time of filming was Captain Ampie Myburgh, who consulted on the documentary's production.
