Performance history in South Africa

1998: The English version was staged in the Playhouse Theatre in Durban in September, directed by author Feroz Khan, with actors from India in the three central roles and South Africans, including Rajesh Gopie, in the rest of the cast. The Mahatma was played by Boman Irani, Harilal (his son) by Feroz Khan and Kasturba (his wife) by Jayati Bhatia.
