Acta Academica is an accredited, open access South African journal dedicated to scholarship in the humanities.

Initiated and hosted by the University of the Free State Library and Information Services since 2017, the journal publishes independently refereed research articles in the humanities, from the perspectives of critical social theory (including postcolonial and post-developmental debates), with special reference to (Southern) Africa.
