The Offside Rules is a dance piece created by Germany based choreographer Constanza Macras[1].

The original text
A work commisioned as part of the Football Meets Culture programme promoted by the Goethe Institue (DE) and the German Embassy in South Africa in the frame of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, the piece looks at the meeting of characters promoted by the public transportation system and the role of football in politics and economy.
Translations and adaptations
Performance history in South Africa
2010: Performed at the Market Theatre, in June 2010, by Dorky Park[2] and the Market Theatre, directed and choreographed by Constanza Macras with Hansel Nezza, Elik Niv, Tatiana Eva Saphir, John Sithole, Domenick Mashishi, Lebang Monnahela, Dikeledi Modubu, Ntombiafuthi Sengwayo and Mmakgozi Kgabi. Lighting by Nomvula Molepo, video design by Nadine Hutton and Gladman Balintulo, musical direction by Noel Ndinisa, costumes by Noluthando Lobese and Marcus Barros Cardoso, stage management by Sibusiso Mndumndum and production management by Katharina Wallisch.
2011: Performed once more at the Market Theatre, 26 to 29 January.
