Original text
The Fugard Theatre commissioned Mike van Graan to write a play in 2018. For this project, he extended a ten-minute piece he had written in 2015 as part of a project he undertook with the University of Iowa into a full-length play. Written in 2019, this work he explores the theme of the sanctity of life, mercy killing and related issues through the tale of a family tragedy in which a young man is involved in a motor vehicle accident and is terribly maimed..
