Matilda The Musical is a British musical with book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin.

The original text

Bsed on the 1988 novel Matilda by Roald Dahl.

Translations and adaptations

A film adaptation of the stage musical was directed by Matthew Warchus from a screenplay by Dennis Kelly, based on the stage musical of the same name by Tim Minchin and Kelly.

Performance history in South Africa

2018: Presented by Pieter Toerien and GWB Entertainment at The Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg (17 October - 2 December), with "Matilda" played jointly by Lilla Fleischmann, Kitty Harris and Morgan Santo, Stephen Jubber and Claire Taylor as the Wormwoods, and Ryan de Villiers as "Miss Trunchbull". It also played at Artscape (9 December - 13 January 2019).
