La serva padrona ("The Servant Turned Mistress") [1] is a 1733 opera buffa by Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710 – 1736) [2].

1952: Staged by the University of Cape Town Opera Company on tour across the Western and Eastern Cape.
1962: Staged by the University of Cape Town Opera Company, with Gregorio Fiasconaro (who directed), Elaine Berkman (making her debut with the company), Noreen Hastings, Ernest Dennis, Albie Louw, Tom Saffery and Tom Berry. Désirée Talbot sang Serpina, and Fiasconaro, sang Uberto. Conducted by David Tidboald.
