Dramfes '86 was a theatre festival that took place in 1986 across three venues, namely, the DOCC YMCA Hall, Lionel Kent Hall in Daveyton and Jiswa Centre in Lenasia. It was convened by Maishe Maponya, Matsemela Manaka, Walter Chakela among others.

Participating were groups from Nyanga Township in the Western Cape, Sharpeville, Mafeking, as well as some plays offered by drama students from the Federated Union of Black Artists.

Included in the programme were Matsemela Manaka’s Vuka, Percy Mtwa’s Bopha!, Maishe Maponya’s The Hungry Earth and Give Us This Day, a play by Port Elizabeth based playwright Mzwandile Maqina.
