The original text

Based on the life of the Zulu princess, composer and Imbongi Magogo kaDinuzulu, the opera was first performed in Durban in 2002, and later performed by the African Renaissance Opera in Chicago, USA, in 2004. Set and costume designs in both cases were by Andrew Verster.
