Originally written in French as ''Crépuscule du Théâtre'', first produced in the Théâtre des Arts, Paris on 14 Decdember, 1934 and published in 1935.  Translated from the French into English by Ashley Dukes, published in ''Famous Plays of 1937'' (Samuel French in New York,  and Victor Gollancz in London).
